PUBLIC SPEAKING FOR TEENS

All successful leaders have one quality in common - the ability to communicate effectively.  It is important that people develop this ability early in life so that they may successfully meet the demands and challenges of today's world.  That is why Toastmasters has developed the Public Speaking for Teens course.

WHAT IS Public Speaking for Teens?
Public Speaking for Teens was developed to help the young people of today become the leaders of tomorrow.  Conducted through the Hunter Community College, the
Public Speaking for Teens course is an intensive eight-week program designed specifically for Years 9 to 12 school students.  Experienced Toastmasters present the fundamentals of communication in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.

LEARN BY DOING
In Public Speaking for Teens, students will practice what they have learnt.  They will gain confidence in all aspects of communication, including prepared and impromptu speeches.

Topics covered include:

HOW WILL IT HELP ME?
By the end of this course, students will have developed self-confidence and interpersonal communication skills.  They will be able to overcome nervousness when speaking in front of groups, and to organise and present ideas logically and convincingly.
